Olive Garden Breadsticks are a fan-favorite for their soft, buttery texture and delicious garlic flavor. These homemade delights are perfect for dipping in marinara or enjoying on their own.

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted) for topping
  • 1 tsp garlic powder for topping
  • 1/2 tsp salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm water, yeast, and sugar in a small bowl. Stir gently and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, softened butter, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and knead until smooth and elastic (8-10 minutes).
  3. Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 1 hour).
  4. Punch down the dough, divide into 12-14 pieces, and roll each into a rope about 6-7 inches long. Place on a greased baking sheet.
  5. Cover and let rise again for 20-30 minutes until puffy.
  6. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake breadsticks for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While baking, melt butter and mix with garlic powder and salt for topping.
