  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 10 oz linguine (or gluten-free noodles)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it into small pieces. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth; add to the skillet. Simmer until the sauce thickens.
  5. Toss cooked linguine into the skillet with the sauce and beef. Mix well and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving hot.
