  • 1 angel food cake (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 can cherry pie filling (540 ml / 18 oz)
  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding mix (102 g / 3.6 oz)
  • 1½ cups milk (2%)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 oz Cool Whip
  • Sliced almonds (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cut the cooled angel food cake into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Layer half of the cake pieces in a 9×9 pan.
  3. Spread ⅔ of the cherry pie filling over the cake.
  4. Add the remaining cake cubes on top of the cherry layer.
  5. In a bowl, mix pudding mix, milk, and sour cream until smooth (about 2 minutes). Spread over the cake.
  6. Top with Cool Whip and the remaining cherry pie filling.
  7. Chill in the fridge for 4 to 5 hours before serving.
  8. Garnish with slivered almonds if desired.
